GammatectTM Sensor
The GammatectTM sensor offers gross gamma radiation detection for threat level sources. The amount of radioactivity that these sensors are designed to identify are levels that would be used in a terrorist attack. GammatectTM sensors are designed to be deployed in a broad network to provide early warning and situational awareness. GammatectTM sensors detect gamma radiation above 20 mR/hr in less than one second and will detect a dirty bomb made with 60 curies of Cesium-137 at a distance of 29.5 meters, or about 100 feet. Sensors can be positioned adjacent to and interact with security cameras to provide visual identification of a threat. GammatectTM sensors can be concelled / hidden above ceilings or behind walls to prevent compromise.
GammatectTM sensors have been validated by the internationally regognized Oak Ridge National Laboratories and other highly respected commercial radiation laboratories throughout the world.
Gammatect PlusTM Sensor
Gammatect PlusTM is scintillator-based and enables real-time alerts and gamma radiation isotope identification in an unattended perimeter or portal network. During a high radiological count event, the isotope ID and date are sent to a predetermined remote command center, triggering an alarm. System administrators can designate alerts to be triggered to PDAs, Cell phones, Pagers or other mobile clients using Defentect’s DM3TM.
User friendly Gammatect PlusTM combines passive surveillance with active alarms and can be set to ignore medical or other benign environmental isotopes. Even high radiation areas do not present problems and may be monitored as the system has the ability to automatically subtract predictive background radiation levels and when set to 'patient mode,' individuals undergoing medical treatments with high levels of radiation are able to pass without triggering innocent alarms.
